Virtual programs and online activities to enjoy this Family Day weekend

This Monday, February 15 is Family Day, and to help make the long weekend fun and memorable, the City of London is sharing free, family-friendly virtual programs and online activities families can enjoy together.

While celebrations will look different this year as we continue to follow Provincial Orders and health precautions in place to stop the spread of COVID-19, there is still plenty of fun to be had while at home.

Visit ConnectLDN for interactive virtual programming

 ConnectLDN is a new virtual recreation hub featuring activities, resources and experiences to keep Londoners engaged, entertained and active at home. Visit ConnectLDN over the weekend for activities to enjoy from home including children’s videos, craft ideas and interactive neighbourhood activities.

Stay safe and entertained with the London Fire Department

Ever wonder how quickly a firefighter can put their gear on, or what London’s oldest active firehall looks like? Maybe you want to learn about the dangers of unattended cooking or how to replace your CO and smoke alarms? The London Fire Department is sharing videos to help Londoners stay safe and entertained this Family Day weekend, and always. Visit the City of London’s YouTube page to watch these videos and more.

Join London Public Library for a Black History Month family celebration

On Monday, February 15, 6:30 to 7 p.m., celebrate Black History Month virtually with short stories, songs, dance and other performances hosted by Forbehn Fossungu and presented by the London Black History Coordinating Committee and London Public Library. Learn something new with Museum London

Museum London is bringing the museum home to you, offering virtual activities for all ages.  Keeping safety top of mind

As we head into the Family Day long weekend, Londoners are reminded of local health precautions and Provincial stay-at-home-orders while we continue to do everything we can to stop the spread of COVID-19 in our community. This means staying at home except for essential purposes, wearing a mask or face covering in enclosed public spaces if you can, and practicing physical distancing and good hand hygiene.

City of London facilities and office closures for Monday, February 15

In response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, all City facilities including City Hall, arenas, community centres and senior’s centres, pools, libraries, golf courses and Provincial Offences Court, Tourism London offices and social services offices remain closed to the public until further notice.

City of London services that have continued during COVID-19 will be closed on Monday, February 15 in observance of Family Day.
