State of Emergency
Mayor Josh Morgan has declared a State of Emergency due to increasing flooding impacts. With several roads closed and areas experiencing flooding, the City is advising residents to stay home.
The existing Pottersburg Creek Trunk Sanitary Sewer crosses the Pottersburg Creek several times at a shallow depth with segments of the sewer in poor condition. Additionally, portions of the existing Pottersburg Creek Trunk Sanitary Sewer are located on private property, limiting access to the sewer. The existing sewer is in need of rehabilitation or replacement, however, due to its alignment, localized rehabilitation is challenging. Subsequently, the City has retained GM Blueplan Engineering Ltd., as the Consultant to carry out a Schedule ‘B’ Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) study to identify the preferred Pottersburg Creek Trunk Sanitary Sewer Realignment.
The Study has been completed, and a Notice of Study Completion has been sent out to the Study Area, Stakeholders, and neighboring First Nations Communities. A 30-day public review period from July 23rd, 2021 to August 23, 2021 is underway.
Alternatively, a printed copy is available to interested parties at City Hall (300 Dufferin Avenue, 3rd floor), and the local Public Library (London East, 2016 Dundas Street), to be read at these locations.

This study area for this project is within the Argyle neighbourhood in the City of London, north of Dundas Street between First Street and Clarke Road. This Sanitary Trunk Sewer will be constructed over a number of years, with a number of phases which will be identified further along in the detailed design process.
